HOOD TO COAST

The Mother of All Relays and the most popular relay race in the world Hood To Coast Relay boast 20,000 participants from all 50 states and 37 countries taking on the 199-mile relay. Starting at Mount Hood's Timberline Lodge and ending at the beachside community of Seaside, Oregon.

 

In it’s 39 year history HTC has sold out for 19 consecutive years and annually places an additional 40,000 hopeful runners and walkers on a waiting list. The Finish Line Party on the beach hosts 60,000 + patrons. Race History includes ABC television one-hour special, a Hood To Coast Movie, the participation of several Olympic athletes and Nike's Kevin Hart who was the subject of a hilarious viral video in 2017.

 

The popularity of Hood To Coast has led to the launch of HTC China with franchisee and former NBA All Star Yao Ming, HTC Israel, HTC Washington, HTC Pacific City, HTC High Desert, HTC Texas and HTC Hilton Head.

Hood To Coast Relay

August 28-29, 2020 |

Portland & Seaside, OR

The 38th annual Hood To Coast Relay is an overnight, long-distance relay race held in Portland, OR, It is one of the longest and largest relays in the world, with 18,000+ participants. Hood To Coast has filled its team limit for the past 26 years. HTC starts at Timberline Lodge on the slopes of Mount Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon, through  the Portland metropolitan area, and over the Oregon Coast Range, finishing on the beach of Seaside on the Oregon Coast.

Hood To Coast: Pacific City

May 2, 2020 | Seaside, OR

Teams will travel 77 miles of this epic race course. This is a one-day, one-van, six-member team relay. Each participant will complete two legs along the 12-leg race course. All legs will feature an electrolyte and water stop, and efficient transition from each exchange to the next.  Participants will once again experience the beauty of The Original race course with each leg showcasing something special, such as scenic waterways, serene forests, and a sandy finish at the Pacific Ocean near Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock.

July 4, 2020 | West Linn, OR

The Annual Red, White, & Blues 10K, Half Marathon, and 15K run/walk is one festive event! This race is held on the Saturday before the 4th of July with a fun patriotic finish party. Beautiful, peaceful, and fast – are three words that describe the 10K course perfectly. The Half Marathon has some incline, but the scenery is gorgeous! Come celebrate 4th of July early with a patriotic finish party outside Lil Cooperstown that include lives blues music, all-American menu, beer, wine, vendor village, & the Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Hood To Coast: Hilton Head

February 1, 2020 | Hilton Head, SC

Each team of six will run 60 MILES (or walk 42 miles) with every participant completing two legs of the race.  Leave the winter weather behind with 12 miles of pristine beaches, sun, sand, and surf. Enjoy 33 world-class golf courses, 300 tennis courts, over 250 restaurants, and of course our host resort, The Beach House and their iconic Tiki Hut. Just like the original Hood To Coast in Oregon, the Hilton Head experience brings together teams to conquer a breathtaking course, and create a life-long bond.

Hood To Coast: Washington

May 30, 2020 | Seabrook, WA

Primarily flat, fast, and friendly journey with a loop course starting and ending at the state’s best kept secret—the coastal community of Seabrook, located on the Pacific Ocean. Teams of six will run 77 miles with each participant completing two legs along the 12-leg race course; walking teams of 4-6 will trek 52 miles along an eight-leg course. Racers will experience the beauty of western Washington as each leg showcases something special, like scenic waterways, the serene forests, and the Pacific Ocean. This event will be capped at 350 teams.

Hood To Coast: Crawfish Crawl

August 8, 2020 | Tualatin, OR

Heat-up this August night with the Tualatin Crawfish Crawl – a Twilight 5K and Relay Run/Walk at the Tualatin Community Park. Enjoy the beautiful course through Durham City Park and Cook Park. Race starts at 7:00pm and will be finishing right as the headliner is playing their Friday night concert! All participants receive free admission into the Tualatin Crawfish Festival.

Hood To Coast: Spring Classic

April 4, 2020 | Hood River, OR

Just like other HTC one-day relays, this course has an epic start and finish at the Hood River Waterfront. The looped course will take participants from downtown Hood River near Full Sail Brewing through the beautiful orchards towards the Cascade Mountain’s majestic views and serene waterways. The race will begin its downhill return to the Columbia River at Tamanawas Falls and Cold Spring Creek near Mt. Hood. The fast second half of the classic ends on the banks of the Columbia River.

Hood To Coast: High Desert

September 19, 2020 | Bend, OR

The creators of the Mother of All Relays and the most popular relay race in the world bring you another epic Oregon relay. Hood To Coast High Desert, just 25 minutes from Bend, will showcase the scenic Cascade Mountains, Smith Rock, Prineville Reservoir, and the Crooked River. Every leg is spectacular! Hood To Coast High Desert is a one-day, one van, six-member race featuring all the sought-after aspects of the original Hood To Coast Relay. But guess what? No sleeping fields, no major exchanges, no running in the middle of the night, and no need to take Friday off work.

Be the first to see the lights at Portland International Raceway! The Turkey Trot Relay and 5K take you on a holiday themed journey through the lights of the Sunshine Division Winter Wonderland. This is the perfect way to kick off Thanksgiving weekend with friends and family.
